Technology is constantly moving forward. The education process in the area of online learning is always advancing. Unfortunately that sometimes means the processes we are familiar with change when software applications are updated. The table below contains the new ways of performing various common tasks in Blackboard. Locate new content items, such as Assignment submissions or Discussion Board posts Use modules on Home tab to enter course, click through course areas and items to locate new content Click on “power” icon at top right of display and use My Blackboard from Global Navigation menu to access specific course items containing new content.

Move from course to course Return to Home tab, select desired course from My Courses module Click on Action Link next to course title, select another course. Destination course appears, with same area of the course shown.

View and edit due dates for upcoming course events Navigate to specific course, select Course Calendar to view or original content item to edit Select Calendar from My Blackboard in the Global Navigation menu to see course events from all courses. Due dates can be changed by dragging items (note: dragging does not change item link availability, only item due dates. The availability of links to content items would still need to be changed manually within the content item).

Annotate submitted written assignments during grading process Go to CONTROL PANEL > Grade Center > select NEEDS GRADING or FULL GRADE CENTER. Document must be downloaded to be viewed and annotated. Changes must be manually uploaded into Blackboard. Access assignment from the Grade Center and in Crocodoc viewer, enter feedback text in Comment area or markup text using tools available on the Annotation toolbar. Edits are saved automatically and will be available when the document is downloaded.
