The OHRM Professional Development and Learning Management Office (PDLM) coordinates training and professional development opportunities designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and competencies of CUNY employees. College and Central Office employees in various job groups can benefit from professional development and training sessions that present progressive and innovative workplace effectiveness tools created by some of the most celebrated thinkers in the workplace learning field. Courses for department heads, managers and supervisors, non-supervisory professionals, administrative staff, and other employee groups are available. A limited number of office technology courses also are provided for all employees.
The Professional Development Office also offers training and skill-building courses for employees charged with coordinating selected human resources compliance policies on their campuses. In addition, workplace violence prevention training is available on-line for all CUNY employees. Sexual harassment prevention policy implementation courses are provided for campus Sexual Harassment Awareness and Intake Committee members and for managers and supervisors. Online sexual harassment prevention training is also available to all members of the CUNY community – non-supervisory employees, supervisory employees, students, and guests.
The OHRM Professional Development and Learning Management Office also serves as CUNY's "agency liaison" for the New York City Citywide Training Center (CTC). The CTC offers programs and courses to New York City employees and CUNY employees may attend many of them. Courses in administrative and workplace effectiveness, communication skills, managerial and supervisory competencies, computer technology, office technology, auditing, procurement, and construction ("green") management are available. The Professional Development Office also assists campuses in providing many of these courses on-site.
