Deferred Action for Undocumented Youth (DACA)
On Friday, June 15, 2012 President Barack Obama announced that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will implement a program for granting “deferred action” to undocumented youth who meet certain requirements. Individuals who qualify will be granted deferred action for a two-year period, which can be renewed. Those granted deferred action will be eligible for permission to work in the United States.
This section provides more information on deferred action and what steps to follow if you qualify as well as other benefits for DREAMers.
