NYC Solar Ombudsman
Lauren Cobb is helping to make it easier and more affordable to go solar in NYC. Through CUNY’s NYSolar Smart Program, Lauren is leading the NYC Solar Installer Roundtable, implementing a Community Shared Solar pilot project on a multi-family building, and serving as a bridge between the NYC DOB/FDNY/Con Edison and local installers. Lauren comes to CUNY from California with over 5 years of experience in the solar industry. She has worked with REC Solar and GRID Alternatives in almost every aspect of residential solar ranging from project management to system design and installations. She has also managed over a thousand rebate and utility interconnection applications in CA, HI, and CO. Lauren holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and Marketing with a minor in Environmental Sciences from Mississippi State University. She enjoys running, rock climbing, camping and everything outdoors.
