U.S. DOE SunShot Initiative

The United States Department of Energy SunShot Initiative is a national collaborative effort to make solar energy cost-competitive with other forms of electricity by the end of the decade. DOE is supporting a range of key activities by private companies, academia, and national laboratories to drive down the installed cost of solar. The non-hardware, balance of systems costs associated with solar energy systems represent as much as 40% of the total installed system price.
