A Message from the Director
Welcome to the Chancellor’s Latino Faculty Initiative at the City University of New York. Since it’s inception, LFI has sought to promote excellence via the recruitment and retention of a diverse cohort of faculty. We have successfully attracted faculty in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and STEM fields throughout CUNY. Prospective scholars interested in tenure track positions are encouraged to submit their CVs to email@example.com and visit our Facebook page for the latest information on career opportunities and sponsored events. We also encourage you to review faculty listings via CUNYfirst: http://www.cuny.edu/employment/jobsearch.html. These listings are periodically updated and provide detailed information about openings for prospective applicants.
Faculty affiliated with the Initiative at CUNY are also encouraged to inquire about professional development opportunities to further enhance their career objectives. Our aim here is to promote knowledge and build a community of scholars that supports diversity and inclusivity. For example, this past year LFI helped to facilitate the Faculty Research Writing Seminar of The School of Arts and Sciences at Hunter College, CUNY. We also have collaborated with colleagues in the tri-state area to advance scholarship in Latino Studies.
Additionally, the CUNY administration is creating an inclusive environment via a series of initiatives tailored to the specific needs of their faculty. As Director of the Latino Faculty Initiative, I have been privileged to participate in colloquia and panels in collaboration with my colleagues to envision a better tomorrow.
We aim to highlight the scholarly achievements of our faculty throughout the academic year. Please let us know of your accomplishments so we can inform the broader CUNY community of your successes. Adelante!
