Auguste

"My name is Darnell Auguste, and I am a proud student of the ASAP community. It has not only been a scholarship program, it has been more like a family to me because over time, you realize the people helping you are the people that want to see you do the best you can in this world."

AmadorHS "Sometimes as students, we underestimate our intelligence, our ability to succeed... We think that our efforts as individuals will make no difference in the world around us, but that's just not the case. When we believe, we succeed, when we take action, we accomplish. When students like me, like you, like all of us, take action and get involved, we create change. And with a family like those that surround you, your ASAP advisors, your friends and your family, there aren't any limits. ASAP provided me with the means to achieve what I wanted, moral support, academic support."

Lee

"To sum up, ASAP really does work for students. It works to the point where your entire life changes... look at me. But let me just say, without ASAP, my college career could have been very different. I would've been clueless, lost and maybe not as academically focused because I would have been concentrating so hard on how to pay for school. But because of the friendly and wise advisors, caring and supportive peers, financial support that ASAP offers, I am able to take full advantage of a wonderful and ingenious opportunity."

Cabrera"I can tell you for sure that LaGuardia and the ASAP program have prepared us for higher education in a senior college. Of course, the transfer will not be easy--it represents a lot of responsibility and commitment--but if we apply what we learned here and if we know that we are able to make and create anything, we will be able to succeed and reach all our goals, including further education. Education is a long and difficult process throughout which we will change our minds and our goals a couple of times and we might feel lost and fail many others, but the point is not to give up. Our goals are in our hands."'

Saladrigas

"Fellow students, each of you is doing just what I did when you walk through those campus doors every day. You are affirming that you are willing to do whatever it takes to succeed in life, no matter what hardships come your way and what obstacles might present themselves. You are saying that you are willing to fight your way to the top. I encourage you to fight; never give up the fight, because it's worth it. At times it may seem hard and you're going to want to quit, but remember this day and these rewards you earn for your hard work and sacrifice and remember that a clear future is ahead."

"Overall, ASAP has been a positive and driving force in the pursuit of my goals. I only see success in my academic future, because the people involved with the administration of this program only see success in our collective futures. It is not only a spoken goal, but has been demonstrated throughout the past semester, through their actions and continued support. Through ASAP I did not only have the opportunity to advance scholastically, but I also gained personally."
