Submit the Commitment Tuition Deposit

  • All undergraduate students are required to pay a non-refundable $100 Commitment Tuition Deposit. The deposit is the method by which you secure enrollment. The deposit will be applied towards your first semester tuition charges and will allow you to schedule your orientation, placement tests and registration. You are strongly encouraged to send in your deposit as soon as possible, but no later than the date below.
  • For the Fall semester, the deposit must be received by May 1, the national deadline for accepting offers of admission and financial aid. If you are admitted after May 1, your commitment deposit is due 15 days after the date you received your admission notification.

Placement Tests

  • Preparing for the CUNY Assessment Test (CAT) is strongly encouraged as these tests will determine your placement in Mathematics and/or English (Reading/Writing) courses.
  • Four-Year Colleges: All students admitted to a CUNY four-year college must take the CAT in Mathematics before enrolling in the college, regardless of New York State Regents, SAT, ACT, and/or AP scores in Mathematics. Test results will be used for placement purposes in the appropriate mathematics course.
  • Community Colleges: All students will be asked to take the CAT in Mathematics and/or English for placement in first year courses.
  • After you submit your Commitment Tuition Deposit, the college will send your testing date/location via email or standard mail, so be sure to check your email/mail from the college frequently. Note: In some cases, your testing information may arrive prior to your financial aid award package.
  • Visit the CUNY Assessment Test page for online resources to help you prepare for the test.

Orientation, Academic Advisement and Registration

  • Register for orientation as early as possible to ensure that you have the most choices for your course selections, look for parent/family programs and get ready to meet new people!
  • Register for academic advising to select your classes.
  • Your academic advisor will assist you in registering for your classes.
