Admissions Information

Admission Requirements For All Master’s Specializations

Undergraduate degree from an accredited university with GPA (overall and major) of at least 3.0 preferred; Graduate Record Exam (General GRE) (waived for those with graduate degree from accredited U.S. university); TOEFL is required if undergraduate degree is from a country where the official language is a language other than English; at least one year of experience in public health or related field; Resume; Completed application; Essay; Two letters of recommendation.

Additional Admission Requirements 

At least 40 credits of college-level science (i.e. biology, chemistry, physics) and mathematics. Calculus and statistics required.


All degree-seeking students must complete the SOPHAS application. 


Acceptance for the Hunter Campus programs occurs once a year, for the Fall semester only.(Applicants who have completed all or part of their university studies in a non-US institution and/or require student visas must submit their applications no later than February 1 to be considered for Fall admission.)


We encourage all prospective students to attend one of the Information sessions to obtain additional information about the program. 

Non-Matriculated/Non-Degree Option
Registration permission is only given with the approval of the Program Director, Jack Caravanos and is based on space availability.
